The little church building located at 15 South Maple Street has seen a lot of history in the 100 years or so since it has been in existence and the property is getting ready to create new history in the City of Hartford.
At the end of 2005, the congregation of His Place: Cathedral of Faith saw the need for multiple community centers in the surrounding communities. The City of Hartford was chosen as the first location to begin this outreach program for the children and adults of Hartford.
His Place: Hartford Community Center was formed by His Place: Cathedral of Faith church on June 13, 2006 by a resolution to establish a community center in Hartford.
The church appointed a board of directors to handle marketing and fund raising responsibilities as well as oversight of the center.
In 2006 the old church was torn down and its history continues in 2007 as construction begins, giving this site new life as His Place: Hartford Community Center.
